NEIGHBORS TO THE NORTH:
A Few Days in Vancouver

Day 1:
Arrive in Vancouver. If you'd like a little more flexibility and time to explore on your own, rent a car and head into the city. Or, your personal tour guide can meet you at the airport.

Day 2:
Your personal tour guide will meet your family at the hotel and take you on a tour of the city this morning.

The kids will love the totem poles in Stanley Park. Each pole has a story to tell, and each story can capture the imagination. We'll provide your children with a kid-friendly description of the meaning and stories behind these towering totems. Enjoy some lunch at one of many restaurants in the park.

After lunch, continue to the Vancouver Aquarium, the largest in Canada. A hit with kids of all ages, the aquarium covers the waters of British Columbia, the Arctic, the Amazon, and beyond. The aquarium goes beyond sea life; it's also home to snakes, sloths, frogs, bats and more. Explore on your own, or an aquarium Naturalist can give your family a tour. Enjoy dinner in any of Vancouver's great neighborhoods.

Day 3:
This might be one of the more memorable days of your trip for the kids (and you, too!).

Depart from the hotel early this morning, and head to Capilano Park & Suspension Bridge. The Suspension Bridge stretches 450 feet across and 230 feet above Capilano River. The twenty-seven acre park also feature guided nature tours. Children will love the Living Forest exhibit. Enjoy musical entertainment and First Nations carving demonstrations.

You might be wiped out after a long day, so we'll suggest a restaurant near your hotel.

Day 4:
After a long day yesterday, take it easy and enjoy a leisurely visit to Granville Island.

Take the ferry across False Creek to Granville "Island", which boasts a great Public Market, and a Kids Market with activities and stores that cater to children.

Enjoy fresh from the ocean seafood tonight. Vancouver Harbor has great food, and views to match.

Day 5:
Say goodbye to Vancouver and depart for the airport this morning.

If you haven't rented a car, we can provide a private transfer.

Rates from $2000.00 for a family of four. (Land only)

Have more time?
A day trip to Victoria is unforgettable. A one and a half hour ferry ride each way, it might not be suitable for all children. But if the kids (and YOU) are up for it, it's worth the trip. And there's a small arcade on board to keep the kids occupied.

Once on Victoria, take a stroll through Butchart Gardens and take a spin with your kids on the old-fashioned carousel. Visit to the Beacon Hill Children's Farm or Fisgard Lighthouse. The lighthouse is Canada's oldest working lighthouse, and its displays tell tales of shipwrecks long ago.

A FAMILY REUNION IN FRANCE

If you've been thinking of planning a family reunion, consider renting a farmhouse in the Loire Valley. Or rent a barge and float through the Loire Valley. Begin or end your trip in Paris.
